A BRIEF HISTORY OF IMU
The Institute of Medical Ultrasound was founded in 2003 and welcomed its inaugural class in 2004. Founded by Dr. Dexter Page, MD, IMU is a privately owned diagnostic medical sonography program licensed to operate through the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission (GNPEC) and is an approved Title IV participating school by the US Department of Education.
IMU is committed to continuing the trend of developing skilled and respected sonographers to join the allied health teams in communities from which they serve.
STATEMENT ON ACCREDITATION
IMU is accredited by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES). As a leader in health education accreditation for over 40 years, ABHES has been nationally recognized by the US Secretary of Education as a private, non-profit, independent accrediting agency since 1969.
