The Institute of Medical Ultrasound participates in the Federal Financial Aid (Title IV) Program which is available for those students who qualify. Some of the Federal Financial Aid programs available to our students include:

- Direct Subsidized Stafford Loans
- Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans

The NPC is a tool used to estimate the cost of attendance and federal aid eligibility for domestic, first-time freshmen. It allows prospective students to enter information about themselves to find out what students like them paid to attend the institution in the previous year, after taking grants and scholarship aid into account.

APPLICATION TO RECEIVE FINANCIAL AID
USE OPEID #042600 ON YOUR FAFSA
All students must apply for financial assistance by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at https://studentaid.gov/ and by submitting appropriate documentation to the institution and the financial aid department.
When a student completes the FAFSA and submits any required documents, the Financial Aid Officer will send the student an estimated award letter.
Selection of students to receive financial aid will be made without regard to age, sex, race, color, religion, sexual orientation, national origin, disability or marital status.
If you desire to apply for need-based aid, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA application can be completed online by visiting https://studentaid.gov/.
To complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid online you will need the following:
- Institute of Medical Ultrasound – OPEID School Code 042600
• Assigned PIN from pin.ed.gov For both you and your parent (if applicable). You may select your own PIN, have a PIN number e-mailed to you within 1-3 days, or sent to you in the mail depending on which option you select.
• From the FAFSA portal, link your taxes from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).
• You will need to know the following information:
• Tax Filing Status
• Address on the Federal Tax Return
• Amount of Income Earned from work
• Any types of untaxed income
HIGHER EDUCATION EMERGENCY RELIEF FUND (“HEERF”) SECTION 18004(C) OF THE CARES ACT
Institute of Medical Ultrasound, Inc. (IMU) signed and returned to the Department of Education a Certification and Agreement and assurance that the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50% of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.
On 5/5/2020, IMU received $21,791.00 from the Department pursuant to our Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.
As of 5/11/2020, IMU has distributed $21,791.04 to eligible students.
There were 32 students at IMU that were eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students under Section 1800(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
32 eligible students received an Emergency Financial Aid Grant under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act.
The institution awarded $680.97 to all students that were financial aid eligible as of 3/19/2020. Checks were distributed to the students on or after 5/11/2020.
The following information was provided to all eligible students:
As part of the CARES Act, IMU received funding from the Department of Education’s Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) for distribution to students in the form of an emergency grant.
The funds are to be used to cover expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus, including eligible expenses under a student’s cost of attendance, such as food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, and childcare.
